PIC Athletics Information

  • 7th and 8th Grades

    7th and 8th graders may try out and/or participate in all sports offered at the middle school level according to MHSAA guidelines.  Students will participate with either East MS or West MS depending on the sport and time of year. Transportation to the middle schools is provided after school.

    Students that plan to participate or tryout for any sports this year must have an up to date physical on file.  If you have any questions, you may check-in with Mrs. Genord or Mrs. Hall.  See links and more information below.
     

    6th Grade

    6th graders may participate in cross-country (fall), wrestling (late fall), and track (spring).  Students will participate with either East MS or West MS depending on the sport and time of year. Transportation to the middle schools is provided after school.

    Fall Sports - Participate with East MS

    PRACTICE FOR 8TH GRADE FOOTBALL:  8th Grade Football practice will begin at East MS Monday, August 26th through Thursday, August 29th from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.  You need to have a sports physical and athletic handbook signed and on file before you can practice.  We will be conditioning the entire first week, which is mandatory, so dress in shorts, white t-shirt with last name written on back, cleats or running shoes, mouth guard and lock for gym locker to store equipment during season.  Come ready to work hard.  Bring lots of water to drink with you.  The first game is a scrimmage on Wednesday, September 11th @ Home against Linden, start time 4:15 p.m.

    FIRST TRYOUT/PRACTICE FOR 8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL:  The first week tryout/practice schedule is Monday, August 26th through Thursday, August 29th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at East MS in the gym.  You need to have a sports physical and athletic handbook signed and on file before you can tryout.  The first game is Monday, September 9th at Home vs. Lake Fenton, start time approximately 5:30 p.m. (following 7th grade game).

    7TH & 8TH GRADE FOOTBALL CHEERLEADERS:  Tryouts completed.  Coaches will communicate practice information.  First game is Wednesday, September 18th - East vs. West MS at GBHS (7th grade start time is 4:15 p.m., 8th grade start time approximately 5:30 p.m.).
