Help with Chromebook Issues

If your student is experiencing an issue with their GBCS Chromebook, we are here to help. Please select the issue that best describes your student's Chromebook problem from the list below. If needed, a GBCS staff member will follow up via text, email, or phone.

Chromebook in Need of Repair
If your student's district-issued Chromebook is experiencing one, or more, of the following issues, please complete this form to set up a date/time swap out the device.
Chromebook issues eligible for an appointment-based device swap:
- Screen issues (broken, lines distorting the image, dark/no image)
- Broken Hinge(s)
- Battery/Charging Issues (device will not charge/will not hold a charge)
- Keyboard issues (keyboard unusable, missing several keys, unable to type)
- Trackpad issues (unusable, stuck, damaged)

Problems Logging in to a Chromebook/Program or Seeing the Enterprise Enrollment Screen
If your student is having a problem logging on to their device or another related issue (see below), please complete this form so we may assist you.*
Login issues may include:
- Unable to log on to device because student does not know their GBCS information
- Seeing an Enterprise Enrollment screen
- Unable to log on to a specific program (i.e. Classlink)
- Unable to log on to the device because the provided information isn't working
*Before submitting your issue, we suggest you have your student close all tabs, log off, and remove themselves from the device to see if that helps. If not, please fill out the form as listed above.
How to Remove a User/Account from a Chromebook
- Log off of the device (click in the area by the clock and choose "Sign Out")
- Once logged out, click the down arrow to the right of the logged-in user's name
- Click the Remove Account link (should be blue)
- Click the second Remove Account link (should be red) to confirm
- Log the student or yourself back into the device

New Charger Needed (Replacement or Additional Charger)
If your student is in need of a new Chromebook charger or needs an additional charger, please do the following:
1. Visit SchoolPay* and select the correct charger to purchase**
2. Complete this form to make an appointment to pick the charger up
*If you have not set up your district SchoolPay account yet you will need to set one up to purchase a charger. Visit https://www.gbcs.org/schoolpay for help.
**Lost Chromebook chargers are not covered under insurance

New GBCS Student Needing Device
Any new GBCS student who still has not received their Chromebook should complete this form to set up a date/time to pick one up.
For all new enrollees, GBCS account information will not be available until the business day following acceptance by a school. It may take an additional few days for new students to have access to grade-specific curriculum on their Chromebooks.

Student Leaving GBCS and Needs to Turn in Device
Any student withdrawing from GBCS must complete this form to arrange a date/time to drop off their district-issued Chromebook and charger.
Failure to return district-issued technology will result in the parent/guardian being invoiced for the entire value of the device.
