Strategy IV: Operations & Technology

 

We will assess district facilities and technology infrastructure in order to ensure they address current and future needs.

7 Action Plans:

4.1 Physical Infrastructure: The district's physical infrastructure and operations will provide a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing learning environment. (3 Action Steps)

4.2 Technology Devices and Infrastructure: The district will maintain robust technology in all of our buildings through regular maintenance and updating of devices and the network based on the current 10-Year Technology Plan (that is based on best practices.) The technology infrastructure and devices will be able to support the needs and technological advancements with acceptable performance levels for all staff and students. (6 Action Steps)

4.3 Athletic Facilities: We will transform athletic facilities to support the student population, community education, and parks and recreation while enhancing the community's experience. Students and community members will have access  to adequate and safe facilities comparable to our counterparts. This will enable us to utilize our facilities more frequently/efficiently. (5 Action Steps)

4.4 Educational Facilities: We will transform facilities to support the student population, community education, and parks and recreation while enhancing the community experience. Students and community members will have access  to adequate and safe facilities comparable to our counterparts. This will enable us to utilize our facilities more frequently/efficiently.  (4 Action Steps)

4.5 Perry Center Alterations: We will transform the Perry Center property to support the student population while enhancing the community experience. Students and community members will benefit from the revitalization of the Perry Center. It will become the central starting point for Grand Blanc Community Schools and this will benefit the reach of the GBCS system. (3 Action Steps)

4.6 Technology Systems and Processes: The district's technology systems and processes will be reshaped to protect from cyber-attacks, reduce duplication, and modernize platforms for ease of staff, student, and parent/guardian use. The technology systems and processes will be able to support the needs of an ever-changing education system and world, through improved security, function, and the reduction of duplication as much as possible. (6 Action Steps)

4.7 Technology Spaces and Programs: The district will create permanent and consolidated spaces for the technology services department, STEM programs, and Middle School eSports. Technology operations and programs will run more efficiently and effectively within the district and provide more opportunities on-site for student exploratory learning in technology. (2 Action Steps)
