Mrs. Obregón

¡Hola! My students know me as Señora Obregon, and I am proud to be a Grand Blanc Spanish teacher. GO BOBCATS!

As a native Spanish speaker, sharing my love for my language and culture has become my passion. I was born and raised in Matamoros Tamaulipas, México. I have been working in education since 2013. I have a Bachelors in Spanish from A&M University in Texas.

I love teaching Spanish and I try to bring much of my culture into the classroom as possible. My students love to listen to music in Spanish in our class, learn about cultural differences and traditions, and have fun while learning a new language. I believe that good education shapes not only minds but hearts as well. And that by learning a different language and traditions, especially at a young age, can make students more cultural appreciative and incorporate that respect into their daily and future lives. My biggest joy is to see that self-confidence build up and put into practice when we role-play skits in our class, or when a student tells me that they were able to use what we learned in class and talked to somebody in Spanish!

Learning a new language can be intimidating, but I believe that my enthusiastic, cultural approach to teaching Spanish enables students to acquire language skills in a manner that keeps them interested and motivated.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Engr. Pedro Obregon, my sons Emiliano y Sebastian.

I also love making churros! Yum!, watching Disney movies with my family and dancing!

Gracias y ¡Hasta luego!
