Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Torie Rose
I’m excited to be here at West Middle School teaching 6th grade science for the 2020-2021 school year. This will be my 9th year at WMS. Prior to becoming a member of the Grand Blanc Community Schools, I worked in Pahrump, Nevada teaching 7th grade English for a year. Being a native Michigan girl, I returned to my home state and was fortunate enough to be hired for the Owosso Community Schools where I taught science and English to alternative high school students for 3 years and then at the middle school for 2 years. I am a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University and continue to take classes to strengthen my skills as a professional secondary education teacher. I am just as passionate about learning new things as I am about teaching.
On a personal level, I am a member of the GB community. My husband and I spend all of our free time with our three children and our dog, Teddy. Ethyn (8 years old) and Keira (5 years old) will attend Brendel Elementary this year. We recently dropped our oldest off at Arizona State University where she will be running on their track team as a distance runner. It is bittersweet for our family, but remain optimistic for the opportunities life has to offer her. We enjoy the great outdoors and also travel as often as we can. I have found my experiences in other cities, states, and countries to be both enriching to my profession as well as eye-opening, and I continue to grow as an individual each school year. I believe GB is the best place for me and my family and I am proud to be a part of the Grand Blanc Community Schools.
