Mr. Jerry Todd

Hello and welcome to my home page. My name is Jerry Todd. I am honored to say I teach 8th grade, American History at Grand Blanc East Middle School. I began teaching at GB back in 2000. In addition to teaching, I also organize coordinate & lead the Grand Blanc East and West Middle School - 8th grade Washington DC trip. This spring marks my 20th year taking students to our nation’s capital.


I possess a teaching certificate from the state of Michigan in History and Social Studies. In 2003, I earned a Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. A Teaching degree from Saginaw Valley in 1999. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1990. During my time at Michigan State, I was a member of the Varsity Football Team - Two Year Varsity Letterman Winner and Member 1987-88 Big Ten & Rose Bowl Championship Team. 

I am the current head varsity football coach at Flint Powers Catholic. I began my coaching career back in 1990. I coached football for fourteen seasons at Grand Blanc, serving as the head coach at each level, the Middle School, the freshmen, and the Junior Varsity team. I spent six seasons as the head Varsity coach of Burton Bendle High School, before return back to Grand Blanc in 2013 as a varsity assistant for three seasons. In addition to coaching football I also coached middle school track from 2000 to 2016. 

When I am not here at East Middle School I am enjoying the company of my wife Barbara and our two dogs – Darla and Dubya. I love to travel, snow ski and golf. I am truly blessed to call teaching my profession and to work for such a great school district.
