MAT, MLIS Endorsements in Earth/Space Science, English, and Library Media

Mrs. Lemerond

Hi! I love teaching middle school science here at Grand Blanc since 1998! I even graduated from Grand Blanc High School (it's longer and longer ago). My B.S. in Education is from Central Michigan University where I had double majors in Earth Science and English. I have a non-teaching minor in Geology. I earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching with a Science emphasis from Michigan State University. My other degree is a Master of Library and Information Science (that would be "librarian" to most) from Wayne State University. My certification is secondary (grades 6-12). I am highly qualified to teach Earth Science, English, Language Arts, literature, writing, and middle school science. I love our Great Lakes and hope to have students understand their role in conserving Michigan's natural resources. When I am not here at West,  I am enjoying the company of my very active daughters, husband, gardening, and reading. I think 13-year-olds are at a great age! : ) So many things are new to them and they are really developing good questioning skills. I am blessed to have the best job next to motherhood!

  • Each student is responsible for finding a bringing independent reading material to class each day. This should be a novel that he/she enjoys and reads both inside and outside of school. Student/teacher conferences will happen throughout the year pertaining to this activity. Please see the ALA's "Ultimate Teen Bookshelf" list for some suggestions.
