Staff and Student Account Information

All GBCS Staff* and Students are provided with district Google Apps for Education accounts. These accounts remain active throughout the user's time as a student or staff member at Grand Blanc Community Schools.  
Once a user leaves GBCS, their Google accounts will be deactivated and any material housed in the account will no longer be accessible.
Account Deactivation General Timeline Information
Student Accounts are deactivated the night a student is marked as withdrawn in our Student Information System, Synergy.  Staff Accounts are usually deactivated within one to two days of the staff leave date**.

Accounts of graduating 12th graders are left on until early August to allow time for students to transfer any needed data.

*Staff are required to utilize two-factor authentication with their Google and Microsoft accounts.  Visit 2FA Information for more.

**In certain instances, staff accounts will remain on longer to assist with staff transitions.

Once an account has been deactivated, users will no longer have access to its contents.  For this reason, we highly recommend backing up any Google apps information that will be needed before leaving GBCS.
