GBHS Bands Performed a Wonderful Spring Concert May 3rd
High school Concert, Symphonic and Wind Ensemble bands performed beautifully to a crowd of family and friends in the GBHS Howard Pepper Auditorium on Wednesday, May 3rd.
Instrumental Music teacher and Director, Mr. Hutchison, directed Concert Band as they performed Jubiliance by James Swearingen and The Great Locomotive Chase by Robert Smith.
Symphonic Band performed Grand Ledge Overture by John Moss and Selections from Up by Michael Brown as well as The Light Eternal by James Swearengen at the direction of Mr. Goncz, Assistant Director and Instrumental Music teacher.
Mr. Hutchison returned to direct Wind Ensemble, as they finished the night with Carnegie Anthem by William Owens, At Dawn They Slept by Jay Bocook, and Soundtrack Highlights from Les Miserables by Jay Bocook.

Mr. Hutchison & Mr. Goncz recognized senior band members who will soon be graduating, as well as a "Band Member of the Year" for all three bands. The J.P. Sousa Award was presented to senior Grace Walker.
The performances were all excellent. Great job, Bobcats! The show was enjoyed by all.
